Flag Person Training
This 5 hour course is designed for workers with no previous experience as flag persons. The course provides information about employer and worker responsibilities, equipment and personal protective equipment, practices and procedures, flagging, legislation, positioning and communicating with the motoring public and work crews. Upon successful completion of this course a three (3) year A.C.S.A. (Alberta Construction Safety Association) Certificate will be issued. Bring a bag lunch.

Ground Disturbance – Trenching and Excavation
This course is recommended for persons working in construction, pipeline work, electrical, farming and ranching, landscaping, municipal, provincial and federal employees involved in digging and heavy equipment operation. The material covers soil types, excavation, shoring and back sloping, Alberta First Call, responsibilities and hazard management and controls. Bring a bag lunch.

Confined Space Entry/Rescue includes Lockout & Tagout
This training program is designed to enable workers and employers to ensure existing and potential confined space work locations are identified, and that a written confined space entry program is developed and maintained by the employers. After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate and apply controls that prevent accidental exposure to hazards related
- to confined space entry
- Identify hazards; understand process isolation/lockout and tag out procedures
- Reference and apply applicable legislation
- Demonstrate application of controls
- Prepare and apply rescue plan
- Retain required documentation

TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
Each year more and more dangerous goods are moved across Canada by road, rail, water and air. These shipments range from industrial chemicals to manufactured goods and they can pose a threat if not handled safely. The Transportation of Dangerous Goods course is required by anyone that transports dangerous goods. This 4 hour class deals with road transportation and teaches the basics. Students will learn about classifications of dangerous goods, emergency response assist and plan, identifying dangerous goods, responsibilities, incident reporting, training requirements and more. Upon successful completion of this course a three year certificate will be issued; it is not transferable between companies. Bring a bag lunch.

WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)
WHMIS is a hazard communication system that is in effect across Canada. All employers require it. Our WHMIS is a core generic program that gives students a general understanding of WHMIS legislation and the three components: Labels, Material Safety Data Sheets and Worker Education. Students receive training in the WHMIS Hazard Classes, Symbols, Language and Definitions.

Bobcat Operator Safety (Skid Steer)
The class will cover: Skid Steer loader design rated operating capacity, weight distribution, centre of gravity, attachments, drive train, safety features, controls, maintenance, entry and exit procedures, transportation and driving/operation. Generally this certification is required by individuals who are working in construction, landscaping, irrigation, farming and ranching. Bring a bag lunch.

Canadian Non-Restricted Firearms Safety (PAL – Possession Acquisition License)
This course is a requirement for anyone applying for, or renewing a Possession Acquisition License (PAL). The course stresses safe handling as well as storage and transport of firearms and is instructed by provincially certified firearms trainer. Each student will receive, in class, the Firearms Safety Manual (restricted or non-restricted) required for the course. Bring a bag lunch, highlighter, and photo identification. Must be 12 years old. Emergency First Aid
In this one-day course, students will learn to recognize and provide interventions for life-threatening emergencies until medical aid arrives. Topics include: CPR and choking for adults, shock and unconsciousness, severe bleeding, head & spinal injuries, major medical conditions, and AED training and certification.

Standard First Aid -
This two-day course covers all the skills in Emergency First Aid plus first aid for other injuries and illnesses including head and spinal injuries, fractures of the upper and lower limb. This course includes Level C CPR training and certification (Adult, Child, Infant, and 2-rescuer resuscitation) and AED training and certification.

Lady Beware
Assault can happen anywhere…even in your own home. No matter what precautions you take, you may someday be faced by a would-be attacker. This self defence class for women will teach you ways to protect yourselves. You will also learn what situations and places may put you at risk for an attack.

Red Cross Babysitting Course
In this course you will learn the basics of looking after infants and young children. You will learn basic first aid skills so you are able to handle emergencies. You must be 11 years old within 3 months of taking the course. Bring a bag lunch.

Everyday First Aid for Seniors
This non-certificate course is designed to teach some basic first aid knowledge and skills. This course will help the students recognize emergencies and react in an effective manner. Topics will include: CPR, choking, signs and symptoms of stroke, heart attack and shock.
This course is subsidized by an Alberta Learning Rural Innovation and Access program grant.
