1. Family Studies

Barons-Eureka-Warner Family & Community Support Services (FCSS) assists individuals, families and communities to reach their potential through Counselling,  Teen, Parenting, Senior and Volunteer Programs. Your taxes are providing these programs at you Parent Link Centre. Please take advantage of these programs.

 

2. Counselling

BEW FCSS counsellors assist in personal, teen, family, and marriage counselling. Call Brett Drewry 403-752-5430 or  Margie Hartley 403-752-4301, Ext. 2.

 

3. Parent Link Centres

There is no charge for the programs; they are sponsored by BEW FCSS with support from provincial and municipal governments.  Check our website www.bewfcss.ab.ca for other parenting courses.

 

Barons-Eureka-Warner Family & Community Support Services (FCSS)

1.         Counselling

2.         Parent Link Centres/Parent Program

            Parent Link Centres offer activities/program/courses to provide information and support for parents and caregivers on how to assist with your child’s learning and development.  See our website www.bewfcss.ab.ca for parenting courses and activities in your community.

3.         Teen Program

            The goals of the teen program are to strengthen and support youth and their families by providing professional counselling, educational programs and youth/family activities.

4.         Volunteer Program

            The Volunteer program provides opportunities for individuals to enrich their lives and the lives of those who benefit from their support.

5.         Seniors Wellness Program

            In an effort to prevent disability and preserve independence in the aging population, this program endeavours to educate, support and advocate for seniors and their families.  The program assists seniors in making choices that will improve their health and well-being.

 

 

 COMPASS for the Caregiver

Presented by Barons-Eureka-Warner FCSS

 

This program is intended for family members or friends who are providing care for someone living with challenges due to disability, illness, or age.  Care giving can be life altering, emotionally trying and expensive.  The Compass program offers group sessions for caregivers to learn how to take better care of themselves.  This is a 4 session program to be held on Wednesday afternoons.

Baby & Me

A great opportunity for parents of babies (up to 24 months) to meet others. Come to get new ideas and to make new friends. We’ll talk about how your baby learns and grows, and any concerns you might have. Bring your babe and enjoy a morning out! Offered in two locations.

Infant Massage

Would you like to learn how massage can benefit you and your baby?  Research shows that touch is essential for healthy growth and development. In this FREE 5 week course, you will learn the special massage strokes that can benefit both you and your baby.  Massaging your baby can help:

  • Baby learn to relax
  • Baby sleep longer and deeper
  • Soothe your baby
  • Promote strong parent-child relationships
  • Relieve colic or “gassy spells”
  • Stimulate circulatory and gastrointestinal systems

Family Night Live

Activities, Laughs, and Healthy Snacks! For Families with children 6-12 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Come to the Parent Link Centre and participate in our family fun activities. Please RSVP at least two days before our events. Offered in two locations:

COPEing with Toddler Behaviour

This is an 8 session course for parents of 12-36 month old children. The program is facilitated by trained individuals and is designed to improve your parenting knowledge and reduce the stress you feel as a parent. Through videos, discussion and skill building exercises you will learn about encouraging and nurturing a good relationship with your child and to use strategies to promote positive behaviour and prevent challenging behaviour. Offered in two locations:
