CCVI - Canadian Code for Volunteer Involvement Policies and procedures Template
The template provided is a way to help you organize yourself when developing policies and procedures for your organization's volunteer program. Remember:
- Your can customize the template to suit your volunteer program.
- Policies and procedures need to reflect the reality of your organization.
- Volunteer program policies should be congruent with any existing policies and procedures within your organization, as well as your organizations Human Resources policies.
- Leave the policy in and make a note that it is not relevant at this time (this is recommended); or
- Take out the policy and record it elsewhere for future reference.
The template in itself is a risk management tool that your organization can use to assist you in managing risk within your volunteer program and your organization.
CCVI Policies and Procedures Template:
This section outlines policies for the organizations Mission, Vision, Values, Definition of Volunteer, Philosophy of Involvement, Goals, and Objectives. This group of policies creates a foundation for the strategic direction of the volunteer program, and crystallizes the reasons for being.
This section outlines policies for the organization chart and the designated manager of volunteers. This group of policies clarifies accountability, responsibility and connection within the organization.
Volunteer Resources Management
This section of policies outlines what responsibilities fall under managing volunteer resources and how those responsibilities will be carried out.
This section's policies ensure our volunteer program outlines common practices to ensure standardization across the program. All involved in the program know what is expected in terms of how they will be treated and how they need to treat others.
